Exactly like the Mahdi, Frodo does not shed blood, which is surprising considering all the combat that he has seen. Frodo spares Gollum’s life many times despite his constantly trying to kill him.

Although Frodo finds himself in many duels and battles he never actually kills anyone.

Although Gollum constantly schemes to kill Frodo, Frodo refuses to kill him, much to the dismay of Samwise.

Even when the Cave troll spears him, Frodo does not shed blood… yet another aspect of the Mahdi that Tolkien uses for Frodo.

In fact, according to this report, the Mahdi will not even awaken those who are sleeping. In other words, he does not force anyone to follow him. The part in green states that he does not awaken the sleeper and does not shed blood.

In other words the Mahdi does not force anyone to follow him. He will not wake the sleepers means he leaves people free to choose. Mahdi does not force people to follow him.
